Description
Titled as a memorial to composer Jocelyn Morlock, a colleague and artist for whom Samy Moussa had enormous respect. The work consists of three parts. The first section, marked piangevole (plaintively), is slow and melodic, making use of the oboe’s melancholic tone. The second section is quick; its triple time allows harmonies to peek through arpeggios. The conclusion is a shortened and altered reprise of the first section.
